TrimRx vs Ro

Edited by Gabriel BrocklesbyFounder & EditorFact-checked

TrimRx sells compounded GLP-1 treatment at one all-inclusive figure, from $179 for GLP-1 and $279 for GLP-1 + GIP, "starting at" with no billing period (checked November 8, 2026). Ro sells a membership ($39 for the first month, then $74 to $149 a month by plan) plus FDA-approved brand-name medication billed separately, from $149 a month at the first dose, so the lowest ongoing total is $298 a month on a monthly plan (checked November 8, 2026). Trim Rx

Full profile
Best for
Cash-pay buyers who want one flat figure covering medication, clinician review, delivery and check-ins, with no separate pharmacy bill to reconcile. It also suits people whose dose is likely to rise, because TrimRx states the cost does not move when the dose does. It is a weaker fit if you want a named compounding pharmacy, published refund terms, or structured coaching before you commit.
Pricing
Two published plans: GLP-1 from $179 and GLP-1 + GIP from $279, with no billing period stated (TrimRx plan cards, checked November 8, 2026). TrimRx states the price covers the consultation, the medication, custom dosing, delivery and unlimited check-ins, with no insurance required, and that "your treatment cost remains steady, even as your dose changes". A provider may instead write a prescription for an FDA-approved branded medication, which TrimRx does not sell, dispense or ship: that route is filled at a pharmacy of your choosing and paid for separately.
Access
Compounded GLP-1 and GLP-1 + GIP treatment, prescribed only where a clinician in a third-party US-licensed network judges it appropriate. TrimRx states its compounded medicines are prepared and shipped by a state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacy, are produced in FDA-registered facilities, and are not FDA-approved or evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality.

Ro.co

Full profile
Best for
People who want FDA-approved brand-name GLP-1 medication (the Wegovy pill, Foundayo, the Wegovy pen or Zepbound) from a large, established telehealth company, and who may want to try insurance first. It suits less well anyone looking for the lowest possible monthly cost, because compounded programs print lower prices and Ro sells brand-name medication only.
Pricing
Ro Body membership: $39 for the first month, then $149 a month on the monthly plan, $99 on the 3-month plan, $89 on the 6-month plan or $74 on the 12-month plan prepaid annually. Medication is a second charge: the Wegovy pill and Foundayo pill start at $149 a month and Zepbound KwikPen at $299. At the lowest starting dose, month one comes to $188 and each month after to $298 on the monthly plan (our arithmetic on Ro's figures, checked November 8, 2026).
Access
FDA-approved brand-name medication only: the Wegovy pill (daily semaglutide tablet), the Foundayo pill (daily orforglipron), the Wegovy pen (weekly semaglutide), Zepbound as a KwikPen and a pen (weekly tirzepatide), and Ozempic. No compounded GLP-1 is listed on Ro's weight-loss pages read on October 18, 2026.

Is TrimRx cheaper than Ro?

On the published figures, yes, and the gap is the medicine. TrimRx's GLP-1 plan is from $179 all-in (checked November 8, 2026); Ro's lowest ongoing total at the starting dose is $298 a month on a monthly plan, or $223 with the membership prepaid for a year (checked November 8, 2026). The two are not like for like: TrimRx's price buys compounded medication, which is not FDA-approved, and Ro's buys a brand-name, FDA-approved product.

Two things narrow or widen the gap. Ro's medication price rises with the dose (the Wegovy pill is $149 at the first dose and more at higher ones, published on its pricing page), while TrimRx states its cost stays the same as the dose changes. And with insurance coverage, Ro says your medication cost may be your copay, which TrimRx cannot match because it does not use insurance. For both providers' figures over 3, 6 and 12 months, see the US GLP-1 price index.

Compounded or brand-name: what each sells

TrimRx's main program is compounded medication, prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy that TrimRx does not name. TrimRx states that these drugs are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. If a clinician prefers a branded medicine, TrimRx does not sell, dispense or ship it; you fill it at a pharmacy of your choosing and pay that pharmacy.

Ro's weight-loss pages, read on October 18, 2026, list brand-name medicines only: the Wegovy pill and pen, the Foundayo pill, Zepbound and Ozempic. The word "compound" does not appear. A licensed provider decides which, if any, you are prescribed, and Ro says it only charges the membership if you are eligible.

Refunds, cancellation and the public record

Ro states its first-month membership is refunded if you are not eligible for GLP-1s; after that the membership fee is non-refundable once paid, prescription products are final sale, and you must cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date. TrimRx's terms, read on October 17, 2026, refund in full only if a provider finds you medically ineligible or TrimRx makes a billing error; once a prescription reaches the pharmacy that order goes ahead.

The public records point in different directions. The Better Business Bureau rates Ro A+ with 747 complaints in three years and TrimRx F with 2,652 (read October 18 and 22, 2026 respectively); Trustpilot shows 3.9 from 7,231 reviews for Ro (read October 18, 2026) and 3.4 from 4,930 for TrimRx (read October 22, 2026). We found no FDA warning letter addressed to either on a search of fda.gov on October 18, 2026, which is "none found" rather than proof. The Ro review and the TrimRx review set out the complaint themes behind each figure.

How to choose

TrimRx sells compounded GLP-1 treatment at one all-inclusive figure that it states does not move with the dose; Ro sells a membership plus FDA-approved brand-name medication priced at every dose, with an insurance check. The lower published figure is TrimRx's and the broader published detail is Ro's. This page sets out what each states. It does not rank one above the other.

The right provider is the one that can explain eligibility, costs, side effects, refills, and support before you commit. Avoid treating GLP-1 access as a generic checkout flow; consultation is required and availability varies.

TrimRx: GLP-1 from $179 and GLP-1 + GIP from $279, "starting at" with no billing period, all-inclusive (checked November 8, 2026). Ro: membership $39 for the first month, then $74 to $149 a month by plan, plus medication from $149 a month at the first dose and Zepbound from $299 (checked November 8, 2026).

Compounded GLP-1 and GLP-1 + GIP at TrimRx, which states they are not FDA-approved. Brand-name medication only at Ro: the Wegovy pill and pen, the Foundayo pill, Zepbound and Ozempic. A licensed provider decides which, if any, is right for you.

Users comparing local care can also review PCF city hubs such as Miami, New York, and Los Angeles.

Each provider has its own review: the TrimRx review sets out its two plans, its refund terms and its public record in full, and the Ro review sets out its membership plans, its medication price at every dose, its insurance check and its cancellation terms.

Consultation, delivery, and follow-up

Both begin with an online intake. TrimRx takes payment first and refunds in full if a clinician finds you medically ineligible. Ro says it only charges the membership if you are eligible, and refunds the first month if you are not eligible for GLP-1s.

TrimRx includes free tracked shipping from a pharmacy it does not name. Ro says cash-pay medication ships to your door and insured medication is picked up at your pharmacy.

If a provider cannot clearly explain who reviews your intake, how side effects are handled, or what happens when your refill is due, keep comparing before you proceed.

Trim Rx

Trim Rx is strongest for cash-pay buyers comparing all-inclusive compounded GLP-1 pricing, particularly where a rising dose would push a tiered competitor's cost up. What it publishes about price is unusually clear; what it publishes about pharmacies, refunds and states is not.

Pros

  • Flat all-inclusive pricing with no separate pharmacy invoice to reconcile
  • Price held steady across dose increases, which is where tiered competitors get more expensive
  • Clear published disclosure of the compounded/FDA position and of its own role in the chain
  • A branded-medication route exists if the clinician prefers it

Considerations

  • No compounding pharmacy is named, only "a state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacy"
  • Narrow refund terms: once a prescription reaches the pharmacy that order is filled, and a prepaid multi-month refund must be requested within 28 days of payment (terms read October 17, 2026)
  • BBB rates TrimRx F, lists 2,701 complaints filed in the last three years, and opened a business practice inquiry in March 2026 that TrimRx had not fully answered as of June 17, 2026, the latest date the BBB gives (BBB profile, read November 1, 2026)
  • No list of states served, so eligibility is only discoverable by starting intake
  • The branded route is priced by whichever pharmacy fills it, so the all-inclusive figure does not apply to it
  • Marketing carries heavy outcome statistics that TrimRx’s own small print says "do not represent clinical outcomes or individual results"

Ro.co

Ro is the clearest of the big brands on price: it prints every membership plan and the medication price at each dose. It is not the cheapest way to a GLP-1, because the membership sits on top of brand-name medication. It makes most sense if you want a brand-name medicine, a long-established company, or a free check on whether insurance will pay.

Pros

  • Publishes every membership plan and the medication price at each dose
  • Brand-name, FDA-approved medicines only
  • Free insurance check, with an insurance concierge that handles the paperwork
  • The first month is refunded if you are not eligible for GLP-1s
  • Long-established: BBB lists the business as started in April 2017, with an A+ rating

Considerations

  • Two charges: the membership is on top of the medication, so the starting-dose total is $298 a month on the monthly plan
  • Medication prices rise with the dose: up to $299 for the Wegovy pill at 9 mg and 25 mg, checked Nov 6, 2026; $299 for the Foundayo pill at 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg, checked Nov 6, 2026; $399 for the Wegovy pen at 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD), checked Nov 6, 2026; $449 for the Zepbound KwikPen at 10 mg to 15 mg, checked Nov 6, 2026
  • Once paid, the membership fee is non-refundable, and prescription products are final sale
  • Cancellation must be made at least 48 hours before the renewal date or the next membership fee is charged
  • No compounded option, so it is not the cheapest route to a GLP-1
